Albert Capellas has left Barcelona's academy to be named senior coach of FC Midtjylland.

Capellas has signed a three-year contract with Midtjylland. He is a former Denmark U21 coach.

Last week a meeting took place between him and FCM's chief executive, Claus Steinlein.

The Danes announced today: "Albert Capellas comes from a position as director of the FC Barcelona academy, and before that he was coach of the Denmark Under-21 team, between 2019 and 2021, with which he has the highest point average of history."
